PRODUCTS USED: Transsprint-C Bi-Parting Doors
Remax were contacted by one of Australia’s largest grower, packer and marketer of premium quality fresh fruit and vegetables including Berries, Mushrooms, Tomatoes, Citrus, Grapes, Bananas and Avocados where their produce is supplied to all the major Australian supermarket chains, as well as independent grocers and a range of food industry stakeholders.
This grower also exports produce to Asia, North America and Europe with 3,000ha of farmed land across Australia, 20ha under protected glasshouse production and more than 40 farming, wholesale market and distribution operations nationally.
With farms located around Australia, the mushroom grower supplies farm-fresh quality mushrooms within 24 hours of harvest and they have full control of their entire growing and distribution which means they can guarantee access to fresh, quality mushrooms 52 weeks of the year.
The client required two doors on-site at Mernda, VIC, for access to their production / packing room from the moisture controlled mushroom growing area. This area, in between where the mushrooms are grown to where they are packed, is controlled with an airlock zone where a Transsprint-C B-Parting door was installed on one end and a previously installed Movidor High Speed Rapid Door at the delivery-end of the airlock area.
The Transsprint-C Bi-Parting door was chosen to help prevent moisture and condensation build-up on the existing Movidor Rapid Door.
The client ordered a Bi-Parting Door due the fact that it bi-parts to the sides, where the impact of overhead dripping liquid from condensation is reduced, therefore reduced contamination onto products being moved through the doorway. With Bi-Parting doors, forklift drivers may also use the complete height of the door for moving products, with less overhead equipment to worry about.
The Transsprint-C Bi-Parting High Speed Roll Door opens with a speed of up to three meters per second and is, therefore, one of our fastest bi-parting High-Speed-Doors. It is suitable for interior use as well as exterior use for doorways up to 6000mm High and Wide
The main purpose of the bi-parting door in this particular case is to create a hygienic, efficient, barrier to prevent contamination of produce.
Further advantages: For passenger traffic a partial opening can be programmed. For even more safety, a light barrier and two safety edges are standard.
