With the Australian Government encouraging the waste sector to find innovative solutions that can help preserve resources and prevent waste from going to landfill; Remax Doors were recently contracted by the Builder of a new Resource Recovery Facility to install High Speed Doors at a site which does just that - recovering and converting waste, which would otherwise end up inlandfill.

This resource recovery plant in Victoria is a 'designated a site of strategic importance'... The Award-Winning Sustainability business required access for large waste removal and tip truck vehicles to enter site, offloading typically untreatable waste materials that are ending up in landfill which are then converted to high value resources, helping to eliminate waste and pollution. That's what we like to hear!
One of the three Movidor Concertina high speed dual-curtain fold up doors at this site (in the image) measured over 8000H x 5500W and allows for quick, safe and regular access in and out of site with automated opening and closing. The fold up door included a self-supporting frame with direct drive motor gearbox. The curtain is supported by internal lateral trusses for additional strength.
As well as the concertina fold up door, the Resource Recovery Plant installed:
Movidor HS50, 4975H x 5485W piggybacked to roller shutter door, with push button activation, PE Beam safety and high wind tracks.
Additional safety was added with the Traffic Light System for the concertina fold up doors which shows when the door is in use and occupied with traffic on the other side of the curtain with red and green LED lights.
The Remax range of Movidor Rapid Doors differ from other rapid doors on the market, due to their crash-out and self-relocating soft edge curtain - reducing the need for service call-outs which some other Rapid Doors require due to curtains being knocked out of their guides. The soft edge of the curtain, again, reduces expensive damage which other hard-edged/steel edged rapid doors require regularly. Have a look at the video here, where we see the Self Repair feature re-aligning into the guides, unaided, after impact from a forklift.
