PROJECT OVERVIEW
Rinnai's goal in installing two custom made rapid roller doors, was to reduce dust transfer into the factory, and maintain better temperature control, while allowing for high traffic through the opening, to throughout the Rinnai facility.
Two identical openings of 5000mm x 5000mm were constructed, in an extension to the Braeside facility. As external openings, the Movidor high speed roller doors were mounted to the internal side of the opening, in conjunction with a roller shutter for security. This allowed the roller shutter to close at night for security whilst the Movidor rapid roller door operated during the day, to allow constant traffic flow.
In order to mount in conjunction with the security roller shutters, Remax custom designed and fabricated additional support steelwork, along with a custom stand-off brackets to mount under the roller shutter door.
With falcon radar sensors, the high speed doors were remote activated from both sides of the opening. Configured around movement within set parameters of the opening, the Falcon sensors detect oncoming traffic and allow it through the doorway, to facilitate the least amount of air loss and dust transfer possible.
In order to maximise traffic flow and increase safety, Rinnai also opted for LED traffic light strips, to allow for faster traffic progression without compromising on safety. The LED traffic lights operate like normal street traffic lights, with clear markers indicating when an upcoming vehicle, forklift or pedestrian is approaching the opening or using the opening.

In December 2019, an extension upgrade was made to the Ridley Agriproducts facility, installing a Movidor high speed door for dust control and efficiency on their grain pit.
If not properly contained within the grain pit, the dust travels from trucks when releasing a load of grain into the pit, and can quickly become problematic! View this project to learn how high speed doors can be used for dust control within the milling and grain industry.
